Too Cute!

I wanted to share something really cute that Abo did the other day. A few weeks ago, he started taking the Lord's name in vain, we don't know where he picked it up, unless it was the tv(most likely) or when we say "oh my gosh" we're slurring the ending. Anyway, he was saying it ALL THE TIME!! We had several talks with him and didn't think he'd heard us because he just kept saying it! Then one day he said "That's AWESOME!" Then turned to me and asked if that was ok, I told him it was. Then, just a few days ago he was outside with Bob cutting weeds in the yard and there were some teenagers skateboarding in the street and they were taking the Lord's name in vain. He actually asked them to stop because we don't say that.I couldn't belive it!! I was so proud of him! Now we don't say "oh my gosh" But were startingto say "oh my goodness" Well, he has informed me that we don't say that either. We'll get it all figured out. I'm just very proud of him for standing up for what he knew was right to some mighty big kids.

Why we love Washington and a few other fun things.

Here are a few pictures from the past few weeks. Onr Friday we actually had a nice day, so when Bob got home from work, we headed to the beach! There's a little 2 minute ferry that takes you to a jetty that the city has turned into a 'park' and the ferry's only open from July 5 to the day after labor day. So, because it's only a 5 minute drive from our house and Bob's work, we headed over. The tide was coming in and so the boys really enjoyed splashing in the water. Especially Bbo.
Pure Delight!
The ride over on the little ferry.

We couldn't get Bbo's eyes off the water, he was totally enthralled and didn't want to leave when it was time to go, he actually cried and tried to get away from me and run back to the water!!
Just another reason to love where we live.
These few pictures are a result of the Olympics being shown the past few weeks.

They have both really enjoyed watching the Olympics. Especially track and field. We were watching the 100M and they did a spot on the Jamaican runners about how they've been running since they were kids and this interested Abo, to the point where Abo has decided he wants to participate in the Olympics, competing in track and field. I told him it was a good goal and that if he practiced, he could do it. So, now when he runs CRAZY through the house and I tell him to stop, he tells me he's practicing for the Olympics. How can I discourage that! So, we compromise and he's allowed to run, but not TO wild and crazy. He and Bbo now like to race through the house, it's a good thing we have a straight shot from one end to the other. 2028 here we come!!! (he'll be on his mission for 2024 and only 16 for 2020, so, unless he's a superstar at 16, he'll have to wait until 2028)
A few days ago we got some peaches from a local farmer and LOVED them.
Bbo devoured his peach and then savored the last bite by licking it. He was so giddy with happiness!

Yet another reason I love where we live.

T-ball is over :(

Today was the last of t-ball for the summer. They played a game against another team! It was pretty funny to watch actually. These are a few pictures, sorry they're blurry, I only had the video camera. I don't know if you can see the bruise on Bbo's forehead, he tried to get off the bench and did a face plant. OUCH! The kids were all really great at cheering each other on. I can't believe I didn't get any of him up to bat!

He can't wait for next summer, he was sad that t-ball was over. Next up...MOB BALL!! aka soccer.

Olympics

Saturday night we had a few friends over to watch the opening ceremonies that we'd recorded and eat of course!! I have to tell my SIL Janet THANKS for the three tiered serving platter. We use it ALL the time and I finally took a pic of it. (sorry it's not the best pic, I finally took a picture at the end of the night, but you get the idea of how we like to hang out with our friends)I had to take this one of Bob's new look! What do ya'll think?

So, after we enjoyed a quiet evening with our friends, they all had little ones too and had to go home, :( so, we started cleaning up, Bbo of course was getting into EVERYTHING! But when we were almost done, I turned to get a towel to dry something and I see him with one hand in the trash with a death grip on a cup full of left over chocolate and his other chocolately hand trying to hold the trash can open so he could get the cup out. I QUICKLY grabbed him to go wash him up, and didn't even look at his face, well, this is what Bob saw... I wonder how long he'd been standing at the trash eating chocolate!! Oh my!

A Funny Little Milestone...

Although Abo has been potty trained for a year now, we STILL had to go in the bathroom with him, he didn't need any help, he just wanted someone with him. We'd been protesting for a while but it seemed like he was winning, he would get REALLY upset...cry, throw things, refuse to go if no one went with him. Well, when it dawned on me a few weeks ago that we were coming up on it being a year, I thought...Really he DOES NOT need us to hold his hand anymore. So, although we'd been trying to teach him about privacy, it wasn't really stressed. So, now I decided it was time, so, over that past few weeks he has been rewarded for going potty without a fight and then even more rewarded if he went ALL BY HIMSELF!!! Then today, he headed to the bathroom and of course Bbo followed, he turned around and yelled to bbo.. "NO! I NEED TO GO PRIVACY!!!" We craked up! I Love it !! And I love that he now goes in all by himself!! YEAH!! Whoo Hoo!! Congrats Abo!!!

"EESE!""

Yesterday Bob and ABO took a few of the girls to girls camp and so BBO and i got to hang out together. We had SO much fun playing with the balls in the bucket. I wish you could here him laughing. Here though he's saying Cheese, his newest word when he sees the camera. Thanks to Leauna. I know there's a lot of pics but I couldn't decide which I liked best. So, enjoy

These last few are of him laughing. He really gets himself going, and it's so funny!!
His new favorite thing is to run at Abo and 'tackle' him then start laughing and run away.
